Breaking Through the Cyberspace Barrier: An Exploratory Study into the Atomised Learning Environments of A2 Music Technology





• An exploration into the teaching challenges faced when delivering the current Edexcel specification in Music Technology.

Key Actions:

• Two volunteers were selected from the current cohort of A2 Music Technology students.
• The volunteers provided regular feedback reflecting on their experience of teaching for learning during lessons; these lessons are predominantly computer based.
• Microsoft Netmeeting collaborative tool was used as an aid to traditional modes of communication.

Key Findings:

• The current Edexcel specification in music technology is underpinned by technological deterministic values.
• Traditional teaching for learning methods are being challenged when delivering the current specification in music technology.
